Long since lost count of the number of motorcycles I've had over the years. I currently have a number of machines, some modern and some classics. I've owned singles, twins, triple and four cylinder bikes both 2-stroke and 4. After many years of having a preference for Race replica machines and looking for ever more horsepower year on year, I now find my preference is for high bars and retro feel bikes to blast round back roads. I've always enjoyed working on bikes, taking them apart, rebuilding and modifying. In recent years I have spent more and more time rebuilding classic bikes from 70's & 80's. Sadly, I don't have pictures of many of my old bikes but have some pictures of my current bikes and some of the older ones below. Clicking on some pictures will bring up further details on that bike and links to information sources for that model. |
Aprilia Tuono 2005 vintage Tuono Factory. Great bike to ride with lots of twin power which comes in with an unexpected rush, much like a 2-stroke. Click on image to see more |
| Triumph Speed triple GI Had this one a good few years now and it's a keeper. Great fun to ride, lots of torque and great for country lanes. It has been fitted with Triumph high level carbon can and the engine has been remapped. It has a Rhencullen undertray & Carbon Hugger. Also fitted Triumph 'Snot' fairing. Click on image to see more

Kawasaki Z650C (Project #2) Purchased complete and just about running, but needing a complete strip and rebuild to clean it all up. It has been stripped, frame and paintwork done and it waiting time to finish. |

Harley Davidson VRSCA V-ROD Very different to the bikes I had ridden before. Iconic looks and a very strong 120bhp water-cooled. It's was huge compared to the machines I've ridden previously, a full wheel longer than an R1 etc. Took some getting used to if you want to get round bends at any speed. Click on image to see more

Suzuki GT380A Nice GT which I purchased local. After only covering a few miles in several years, it was time for it to get a new home. Click on image to see more

Yamaha TRX850 One of those bikes I'd fancied when they first came out, but took me a few years to get one. I fitted Scorpion Race cans and also the Front Brakes from an R1. Very impressed with the bike overall. They are the size and balance of a 250 yet the motor will stonk along (for a twin). As with most Yams, a lot of the parts are interchangeable with other Yam models. Very low seat height lends itself to bends very nicely. R1 brakes made a big difference. Very reliable and starts first time every time. If I was to be hypercritical, then the rear suspension is a bit harsh and can get upset on very bumpy bends, but that's about it. The rest of the bike was excellent. Click on image to see more

Suzuki TL1000S 1997 version of the 1000S. First big V-twin I'd owned. Purchased a pair of Micron Race cans which sounded excellent. Flames actually came out of the cans when the bike was used in anger. Frequently got the bike wobbling and wheeelying all over the place which was actually a lot of fun. Whoever decided to fit a steering damper as standard was definitely in the know. Not as forgiving as a four or triple.

Yamaha FZR1000 My first litre Yamaha. Excellent bike which I sort of wish I'd kept. Traded it in for EXUP I still own today. |

Suzuki GSXR750 I was so impressed with the Suzuki RG that when I got rid, I decided to give the 4 stroker a go. Bike was fitted with a Micron race exhaust & modified fork springs. Very nice bike for its time, but was a bit tame after exploits in the RG500. |
|
Suzuki RG500 Has to be one of the craziest bikes of its time. I loved it. Spent most of its life with the front wheel in the air. Got kinda squirrelly above 120. I've been on the lookout for a a good example of this bike for a few years as I'd really like to get hold of another one. |

Kawasaki Z650 I have owned a lot of Kawasaki Z650s over the years but this was my favorite. By the time I had finished with this bike virtually every part had been replaced (including the frame). It had a Yoshimura 716cc Engine, Stage 2 Cams, Ported & Flowed Head, Larger Valves, 29MM Smoothbores, K&N Filters, Harris/Alfa Exhaust, Braced Frame, Modified Forks, Progressive Springs, Micron Brace, Saxon Swingarm, Lots of Chrome. Modified Twin Front Disc Brakes, 2/4 Seat, Lester Alloy Wheels....and and and.... For its time this was a great bike. |
|
Yamaha RD350LC Bike was modified with Micron expansion chambers, racing reeds, 375 big bore and ported head. It was a nice bike but I found it a bit slow in comparison to other machines I'd been using. Never got round to the seat conversion! |

Suzuki GT750 Purchased this bike very cheap when I had a problem with my main bike. I knew it needed work when I got it but soon discovered the rebuild costs were too high to get it up to scratch so I rode it around for a while and then ended up up breaking it for spares. Swapped the front end for a X7 Proddy Racer! |
|
Suzuki X7 Bike picture shows standard trim. Bike was later modified with Micron expansion chambers and K&N Filters. Main reason for getting this bike was I couldn't afford insurance on anything larger (3 speeding tickets makes insurance companies a bit twitchy for some reason). I owned one other X7 which had been a Proddy race machine., it was much quicker but well used as you can imagine. |

Yamaha RD200DX My first 'real' bike. Back in the days when you could crash a bike and get away with buying a few bits & pieces to get it back on the road, it was excellent fun. Has to be the bike I crashed the most!
It was modified with Allspeed expansion chambers, Ported head, filters
and rejetted. One of my all-time favorites without a doubt.

Suzuki
AP50 - PMT 553R Where it all started. I don't have a picture of my actual bike. It was a 1977 'R' Reg Red AP50. My dad got it for my 16th birthday from Eddy Grimsteads in East Ham. I'd never really been interested in biking before this, even though my older brother had bike. The first day I rode it, I was hooked and never looked back (probably why I have collected so many speeding tickets!). If anyone reading this knows of the whereabouts of this bike (if it still exists), I would be very interested in reacquiring. Finders fee paid. |
